Porter treatment is a proxy for everything else
Operators that underpay or overload porters generally cut corners elsewhere. Ask for the porter wage per day, the maximum load in kilograms, and whether tents and sleeping mats are provided for crew.
Partner status with a porter-welfare programme is a checkable, third-party signal rather than a marketing claim.
