Methodology
A trust product should be auditable. This page states what we read, how a verdict is formed, and — just as importantly — what we cannot know.
Last reviewed .
What we read
- Live web search results for the exact business name and close variants
- Public review platforms and the distribution and timing of reviews
- Scam, complaint and refund threads on forums, Reddit and social platforms
- News reports and publicly reported enforcement or court coverage
- Publicly visible operator, association and licence references
- The operator's own public web presence, including domain age signals
How a verdict is formed
Retrieved material is summarised into signals, each attached to the source it came from. Signals are weighted by corroboration: two independent sources describing the same behaviour count for far more than one anonymous post.
Safe means consistent evidence of a real trading operator with no serious unresolved signals. Caution means at least one signal needs a specific question answered before payment. Stop means signals are serious and corroborated enough that money should not move.
Where the public record is too thin to support any grade, we return an insufficient-evidence result and a due-diligence checklist instead of a score.
What we cannot know
- Whether an operator will perform well on a specific future trip
- Private disputes, unpublished complaints or settled matters
- The current status of a licence, unless it is publicly visible — always confirm with the issuing body
- Anything about very small operators with no public footprint
- Whether a positive review trail is genuine, beyond the patterns we can detect
Known limitations
Search coverage varies by language and platform. Records can lag. Similar company names create genuine ambiguity, and we may retrieve material about a different business with a near-identical name.
Our output is informational and is not a guarantee, certification or endorsement. It should be one input into your decision alongside your own checks.
Corrections
If you believe a result is wrong or out of date, email gosafariverify@gmail.com with the business name and the evidence. Operators can use the corrections process, which we aim to answer within five working days.
